A grieving father returned to his charred home in southwest Delhi's Palam, alleging systemic negligence after a devastating fire claimed nine lives.

Rajender Kashyap, who lost nine family members in the blaze, entered the gutted structure with police and forensic teams as part of the investigation.

He blamed authorities for the delay in response, claiming that timely intervention could have saved his family.

The fire broke out in a four-storey building near Palam Metro Station, killing nine people, including a 70-year-old woman and three young girls.

Neighbours suspected a short circuit, pointing to an electrical board near the staircase as a possible origin of the blaze.

A case has been registered, and a magisterial inquiry ordered into the incident, while further investigation is underway.
