A Gurugram school and a motorcyclist have been booked for negligence and rash driving after a 7-year-old student suffered a fracture while crossing the road to board the school bus on November 10. The incident came to light when the girl's father filed a complaint with the police on Sunday. According to the police, the student was crossing the road with other students in a queue when she was hit by a speeding motorcycle. The school administration initially told the parents that the girl had slipped and injured her leg, but the family later discovered that she had been hit by a motorcycle. The police have registered a case under the Juvenile Justice Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the school administration and the motorcyclist, respectively. The investigation is ongoing to determine who was at fault and to identify the motorcyclist. The girl's family has accused the school of withholding information about the incident, not sharing CCTV footage, and lying to them. They also claimed that the school did not provide adequate support. In response, the school has stated that two caretakers and a guard were present at the time of the incident and that the bike was not speeding. The police have assured that the investigation will clarify the circumstances surrounding the accident and determine who is responsible. The family has also demanded compensation from the school.
