IAF Microlite Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing in Prayagraj, Pilots Safe

A two-seater Indian Air Force (IAF) microlite aircraft experienced a technical malfunction during a routine training sortie in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on January 26. The pilots, who were on board, safely force-landed the aircraft in an uninhabited area, averting any damage to civilians or property. The incident occurred at 12:15 pm near AF Station Bamrauli, where the aircraft was undertaking a routine sortie. According to the IAF, the pilots executed a controlled landing in a nearby pond, thanks to their expertise and quick thinking. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the technical malfunction. Local authorities, including the police and fire brigade, rushed to the scene and assisted in the rescue operation. Divers played a crucial role in rescuing the pilots, who were safely recovered from the pond. The area has been cordoned off, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the malfunction. Fortunately, there were no casualties or damage reported in the incident.
