IAS Officer Mahantesh Bilagi Killed in Fatal Karnataka Road Crash

A devastating road accident in Kalaburagi, Karnataka, has claimed the life of senior IAS officer Mahantesh Bilagi and two of his relatives. Bilagi, who was attending a family wedding, was severely injured in the crash near Gounahalli and later succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital in Kalaburagi. Mahantesh Bilagi, the managing director of Karnataka State Minerals Corporation Limited, had a distinguished career, having previously served as the managing director of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) and as a district collector in several regions. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed his deep sorrow over Bilagi's passing, praising his commitment to public service. 'He had left an indelible mark of efficiency wherever he worked,' the CM said. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar also paid tribute to Bilagi, describing him as an 'efficient officer renowned for his public service initiatives.' Bilagi's death has been mourned as an 'irreplaceable loss to society.' The incident has left the community in shock and grief.
