A 25-year-old woman, daughter of a senior IAS officer in Andhra Pradesh, was found dead in her parents' home in Guntur district. The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. According to the police, the woman had been married to a man from the same village for two years. However, within three months of their wedding, she began facing alleged harassment from her in-laws over dowry demands. Her parents intervened and brought her back to their home two months ago. Now, her parents and husband are blaming each other for her death. Her father alleges that her husband had cheated her and coerced her into a registered marriage, while demanding additional dowry. However, her husband claims that she was being mentally harassed and pressured by her family to leave him and agree to another marriage. The husband also alleges that she was pregnant and that her family's actions pushed her into a vulnerable state. He has demanded a fair investigation into her death, calling it a murder rather than a suicide. The police have registered a case under Section 80, which deals with dowry deaths. An investigation is underway, and the police are looking into the claims made by both the parents and the husband.
