Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath marked the beginning of a new era in India with the flag hoisting ceremony at the Ayodhya Ram Temple on Tuesday. The event, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, marked the completion of the temple's construction five years after its inception. Adityanath hailed the temple as a symbol of Indian faith, honour, and self-respect, representing the aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians. He congratulated the engineers and workers who dedicated their lives to the temple's construction and thanked the saints and devotees who were instrumental in the Ram Mandir movement. The unfurling of the saffron flag, Adityanath said, signifies the eternal light of righteousness and the timeless ideals of Ram Rajya. He praised Modi's leadership, stating that it has awakened a new spirit of possibility and determination across India, leading to the realisation of a long-awaited dream of millions. India's transformation over the last eleven years, Adityanath noted, has been remarkable, with development and heritage moving hand in hand to enable the country to rise to new heights. He highlighted the government's efforts to ensure food for 800 million people, free healthcare for 500 million, and homes for the needy, which reflect the ideals of Ram Rajya and lay the foundation of a prosperous nation. Adityanath also recalled the centuries-long struggle for the temple's construction, saying that unwavering faith remained constant despite changes in dynasties and generations. He praised the role of organisations like the RSS in uniting millions and credited Modi's leadership with transforming Ayodhya into an epicentre of cultural celebration. With improved infrastructure, including the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya is emerging as a global centre of faith, culture, and sustainable development, making it India's first solar and sustainable smart city. Adityanath described it as a symbol of national pride and spiritual resurgence, marking a new era in India's history.
