Defence Minister Rajnath Singh sounded the alarm on Friday, highlighting an emerging trend of highly-educated individuals engaging in anti-social and anti-national activities. Speaking at the 104th foundation day event of Bhupal Nobles' University in Udaipur, Singh pointed to the November 10 car bomb blast near the Red Fort in Delhi, where three doctors were among those arrested for their alleged involvement. Singh emphasized that education should not only lead to professional success but also foster morality, ethics, and human character. He noted that the perpetrators of the blast, who were doctors, had failed to uphold these values. The Defence Minister also praised India's defence startups for their remarkable work and expressed confidence that the country will become self-reliant in weapons within the next 15-20 years. He highlighted the transformative power of technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning, urging their positive use to drive India's development. As India continues to grow as the world's fourth-largest economy, with a projected rise to third-largest by 2030, Singh stressed the importance of universities in this journey. He also cautioned against the dangers of ego and arrogance, urging people to strike a balance between self-respect and humility.
