Delhi Police have cracked a shocking loan fraud case, arresting three men who posed as high-ranking government officials to secure personal loans from banks. The accused used forged documents, including government IDs and salary slips, to apply for loans worth thousands of rupees. The investigation began in September 2022, when a finance company reported cheating and forgery. As the probe unfolded, police found that the trio had created fake identities for themselves, claiming to be senior audit officers at the office of the Principal Director of Commercial Audit in the CAG Building. However, when the finance company checked their credentials, they found that none of the men had ever worked at the mentioned office. The police tracked the suspects through technical surveillance and field work, conducting raids at multiple locations across Bihar, Uttarakhand, and Delhi. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had used their banking experience to create fake bank accounts, deposit money, and generate pre-approved loan offers. They would then default on their EMIs and distribute the funds among themselves. The three men had previous experience in the banking sector, with one of them having studied only up to Class 10. Their elaborate scam has left authorities stunned, highlighting the need for stricter verification processes in the banking sector.
