YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has urged Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to safeguard Andhra Pradesh's rights over Krishna river waters as the state prepares to present its case before the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal-II. Reddy expressed concern that Telangana's demand for 763 TMC of dependable Krishna river water could lead to severe injustice for Andhra Pradesh. In a nine-page letter, he criticized Naidu's past decisions, including the increase in the Almatti dam height and the relinquishment of state rights over Krishna river waters to Telangana in 2014. Reddy emphasized that the TDP-led government must act with commitment to protect the state's interests and prevent any loss of allocated water. The outcome of the tribunal hearings will be closely watched, with the state's rights hanging in the balance.
