India's External Affairs Ministry has been instrumental in promoting the Bhagavad Gita's universal message worldwide, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Monday. To celebrate the 10th International Gita Mahotsav, over 50 Indian missions and posts are hosting parallel events and exhibitions globally, featuring translated editions of the sacred scripture in various languages. Jaishankar highlighted the ministry's collaboration with foreign scholars to bring diverse perspectives to the spiritual dialogue. The 21-day festival, which began on November 15, is a testament to the Gita's enduring cultural and spiritual significance. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Kurukshetra on Tuesday to inaugurate a new attraction, 'Panchjanya', and participate in a special programme commemorating Guru Tegh Bahadur's 350th Shaheedi Diwas. Modi will also perform Darshan and Pooja at Brahma Sarovar, a sacred pilgrimage site associated with the divine revelation of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita. Jaishankar extended his greetings to those who revere the Gita's timeless wisdom, saying it transcends religious boundaries and offers guidance and wisdom in a changing world. The global celebration, he added, is a reaffirmation of shared values and a call to live with courage and compassion.
