The Congress-led government in Karnataka is facing a leadership crisis, with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah hinting at a possible cabinet reshuffle. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar recently shared a cryptic message on social media, saying 'word power is world power,' which some interpreted as a veiled message about a power-sharing arrangement. However, Shivakumar later denied the post, calling it 'fake.' The controversy comes as speculation about a power-sharing deal between CM Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar has intensified, with some reports suggesting that the party's central leadership has endorsed a two-and-a-half-year transfer of power. While the CM has denied any plans to step down, his supporters have been lobbying for Shivakumar's elevation in both Karnataka and Delhi. In an effort to resolve the crisis, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has announced plans to call a meeting with senior leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, CM Siddaramaiah, and Shivakumar. The meeting aims to discuss the way forward and settle the leadership issue, putting an end to the ongoing 'confusion.' When asked about his possible summon to Delhi, Shivakumar claimed that no one has called him and he will be attending a programme of the Anganwadi workers' association. Meanwhile, CM Siddaramaiah met with senior ministers and leaders close to him, fueling speculation about a possible leadership change.
