Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has dismissed rumors of a possible leadership change in the state government. The speculation had emerged after a group of MLAs loyal to Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar met with the Congress top brass in New Delhi. According to sources, an alleged agreement between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar based on a 'rotational chief minister formula' had sparked the rumors. However, the party has yet to confirm the deal. Speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah downplayed the rumors, saying that any decision on a cabinet reshuffle would require a party-wide consensus. He emphasized that his position is 'secure' and that efforts are being made to fulfill the promises made to the people. Siddaramaiah also dismissed reports of a 'November revolution', attributing the term to media speculation. He noted that the Congress party has a five-year term in office and will face elections in 2028. Senior Congress MLA KN Rajanna, who attended a closed-door meeting with senior party leaders, confirmed that a letter from the All India Congress Committee (AICC) mentioned Siddaramaiah as the chief minister and Shivakumar as the deputy chief minister. The meeting focused on strategies to bring the Congress party back to power in 2028.
