Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has dismissed speculation of a rift with his deputy DK Shivakumar, stating that they are committed to working together. The two leaders held a breakfast meeting to discuss the alleged 'rotational CM deal' and the upcoming 2028 assembly elections, as well as local body polls. In a joint press conference, Siddaramaiah emphasized that there are no differences between them and that their focus is on the 2028 elections. Siddaramaiah clarified that they will follow the high command's decisions and work together, adding that media reports had created confusion. DK Shivakumar echoed the chief minister's sentiments, stating that they are working together and will adhere to the high command's directives. The meeting comes ahead of a high-stakes gathering of senior Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge, which is expected to take place on November 30. The speculation surrounding a possible change in leadership has been ongoing for two months, with Siddaramaiah previously stating that he received a mandate to serve the full term as chief minister. However, Shivakumar had indicated that he would take over as chief minister after two and a half years under a rotational arrangement. The leaders' reassurance of unity aims to quell the leadership crisis and focus on the upcoming elections, including the 2028 assembly polls and local body elections.
