In a bid to quell speculation surrounding the chief minister post in Karnataka, Congress MLC Yatindra Siddaramaiah has clarified that the party's high command has decided against any immediate change in the state's leadership. Son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Yatindra made the statement on Thursday, stating that there is currently no tussle for the CM position. Yatindra's remarks come after his father's comment that he and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar would abide by the party high command's decision. Earlier, DK Shivakumar had also denied any differences with CM Siddaramaiah, but expressed confusion over Yatindra's earlier statement on the leadership change issue. Although both senior Congress leaders have maintained that there's no power struggle in the state, the party's high command has yet to publicly address the possibility of a leadership change. Despite hosting each other for breakfast meetings at the party's high command's instruction, no breakthrough has been achieved. The clarification from Yatindra suggests that the current leadership will remain in place – at least for now.
