Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has invited his deputy, DK Shivakumar, for a crucial meeting over breakfast to discuss the ongoing crisis in the state's leadership. This move comes after the Congress high command urged both leaders to hold talks to resolve the power tussle. The high command, led by Sonia Gandhi, had earlier called both leaders to Delhi for discussions. Siddaramaiah said he invited Shivakumar for breakfast, where they will discuss everything, including the deputy chief minister's claim of a 'secret deal' anchored by the Congress leadership. Shivakumar's supporters have been demanding that he take over as chief minister, citing a promise made in 2023. However, Siddaramaiah has maintained that he will follow the high command's decision. He also said that he will go to Delhi if called upon by the party leaders. Meanwhile, DK Shivakumar has indicated that he may travel to Delhi for the winter session of Parliament, which starts on December 1. He emphasized that he will follow the party's decision and that internal matters have historically been settled through consultations with the high command. The Congress high command is expected to take a decision on the leadership crisis soon. The party's leaders are confident that the high command will resolve the issue with its trademark sense of timing. As one Congress leader said, 'Let the invitation come from Delhi, then only it will be decided.'
