Dozens of flights to the Middle East, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Doha, and Bahrain, were cancelled from four international airports in Kerala on Sunday.
The cancellations were due to emerging geopolitical tensions in the region and the grounding of all flights at Dubai airport.
At Thiruvananthapuram airport, 37 flights were cancelled on Saturday and 26 on Sunday, while six flights to the Gulf were cancelled at Kannur airport.
Flights of airlines including Air India, Qatar Airways, Air India Express, and Emirates were disrupted, leaving hundreds of travellers in limbo.
Airport authorities have asked travellers to check the status of their flights before leaving home.
