Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Labour Minister V Sivankutty has reassured that the state government will not adopt any anti-worker stance while implementing the Centre's new labour codes. The four codes, pending since 2020, introduce significant reforms, including universal social security for gig workers, mandatory appointment letters, and statutory minimum wages. The reforms also expand rights and safety for women, including night-shift work and free health check-ups. However, Minister Sivankutty emphasized that Kerala will prioritize better wages, health, and safety, social security coverage, and dignified working conditions for its workers. To ensure that the reforms benefit workers, the state government will consult with major trade unions and industrial representatives to formulate state-level rules in line with the central codes. The LDF government is committed to protecting every worker's rights in Kerala, according to Minister Sivankutty.
