Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge downplayed the speculation surrounding the leadership change in Karnataka, stating that the issue is not meant to be discussed publicly. Speaking to reporters in Delhi on Tuesday, Kharge emphasized his focus on attending the Constitution Day celebration and subsequent review meetings. When asked about a possible meeting with Rahul Gandhi, Kharge remained tight-lipped, saying that discussions would take place if a meeting occurs. The Karnataka Congress government has reached the midpoint of its five-year term, fueling speculation about a potential power-sharing agreement between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar. However, Siddaramaiah recently reaffirmed his commitment to serving as Chief Minister for the full term and presenting state budgets in the future. Kharge's visit to Delhi comes as the party navigates the internal power struggle, with the leadership change issue remaining a topic of debate. Despite the ongoing speculation, Kharge's priority remains the celebration of Constitution Day and addressing the party's internal matters through private discussions.
