BSP President Mayawati has announced she will no longer visit major memorial sites honoring social reformers on their birth and death anniversaries. In a statement on X, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister cited public inconvenience caused by extensive security arrangements made for her visits. Mayawati claims that her personal appearances at these sites have resulted in difficulties for people, as they are often restricted from accessing the main site until her departure. As an alternative, she plans to pay tributes to these icons at her residence or the party office. Despite this change, thousands of BSP workers and followers are expected to gather at two major memorial sites in Lucknow and Noida on December 6 to commemorate Dr. BR Ambedkar's death anniversary. The event is seen as an opportunity for the party to reiterate its commitment to social equality and self-respect, a core mission of Ambedkar's legacy.
