Meet Keki Mistry: HDFC Bank's New Chairman Amidst Turmoil

In the wake of HDFC Bank's part-time chairman Atanu Chakraborty's sudden resignation, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Keki Mistry as the interim part-time chairman for a period of three months.

Mistry, a 71-year-old chartered accountant, brings over four decades of experience in the banking and financial services sector.

Before being appointed as HDFC Bank's chairman, Mistry served as the Vice Chairman and CEO of the Housing Development and Finance Corporation, which merged into HDFC Bank.

He has held several key positions, including executive director, managing director, and vice chairman & chief executive officer of the corporation.

Mistry also sits on the boards of several companies, including Tata Consultancy Services and Torrent Power Ltd, and is part of various committees, including the Primary Market Advisory Committee (PMAC) constituted by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
