Modi Govt Claims Permanent Solutions to Naxalism, Northeast, and J&K; Vows to Wipe Out Narcotics

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced that the Narendra Modi government has provided a permanent solution to three long-standing issues: Naxalism, the Northeast, and Jammu & Kashmir. Speaking at the three-day DGP/IGP annual conference in Raipur, Shah expressed confidence that these regions will soon be on par with the rest of the country, free from the menace of Naxalism.Specifically, the home minister highlighted the government's efforts to strengthen the security grid, citing the construction of 586 fortified police stations. As a result, the number of Naxal-affected districts has decreased from 126 in 2014 to just 11 today.Sha further emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Centre and state in fighting terror networks, citing the example of the ban on the Popular Front of India (PFI) and the subsequent nationwide raids and arrests. He also called for a 360-degree attack on narcotics and organized crime, urging state police forces to work together with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to strike at narcotics gangs operating at various levels.The Modi government has set a goal to make India drug-free by 2047. The three-day conference has brought together senior officials to discuss key topics, including home-grown terror, coastal security, biochemical terror attacks, and drug smuggling via marine routes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to participate in the conference on Saturday and Sunday.
