A massive crowd is expected to gather in Mumbai for the Malad Walkathon on Sunday, November 30, with thousands of participants set to take part in various categories. To ensure a safe and accident-free event, the Mumbai Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory, restricting access to certain routes. The Western Express Highway will be closed to regular traffic from 5 am to 8 am via Malad (East) Railway Station and Daftary Road, with only local residents, emergency services, and police vehicles permitted to pass through. The main walkathon circuit, which spans across multiple locations, will also be closed to vehicles except for police and emergency services. Motorists traveling to or from Malad (East) Railway Station via the Western Express Highway are advised to use Datta Mandir Road as an alternative route. The traffic police have urged commuters to cooperate with officers managing traffic regulation and control on the day of the event. In other news, the Bombay High Court has set up a committee to tackle Mumbai's poor air quality, which has been linked to construction activities. The committee, comprising officials from the BMC, MPCB, and the state government's public health department, will inspect construction sites to ensure that existing guidelines are strictly implemented.
