Navy, Delhi Police Shine at Republic Day Parade: Awards for Excellence in Marching and Tableaux

The Indian Navy and the Delhi Police were honored with awards for their outstanding performances at the 77th Republic Day parade on January 26. Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth presented the awards, recognizing the Navy as the best marching contingent among the three services and the Delhi Police as the top performer among the Central Armed Police Forces and other auxiliary forces. The parade featured 18 marching contingents, showcasing the country's rich cultural heritage. Among the 30 tableaux, Maharashtra, Jammu & Kashmir, and Kerala took the top three spots for their captivating presentations. The Culture Ministry's 'Vande Mataram – The Soul Cry of a Nation' won the best tableau award from central ministries and departments. In his address, Seth praised the winners, emphasizing the significance of Republic Day as a reaffirmation of the nation's commitment to achieving the goal of 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047, as envisioned by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government. Special prizes went to the Central Public Works Department and the 'Vande Mataram: The Eternal Resonance of India' dance group. The Assam Regiment was chosen as the popular favorite for the best marching contingent, while the Central Reserve Police Force topped the list among CAPFs/other auxiliary forces. The popular choice awards for tableaux were given to Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, while the Department of School Education and Literacy won the best tableau award in the central ministries/departments category for their presentation on the National Education Policy 2020.
