In a significant breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a 32-year-old Faridabad resident for allegedly providing critical logistical support to the perpetrator of the November 10 Delhi blast. Mohammad Soyab, a resident of Dhauj village, is suspected to have harbored Umar Un Nabi, the driver of the explosives-laden vehicle, in the days leading up to the attack. The NIA arrested Soyab on Tuesday after conducting coordinated operations in the National Capital Region, based on fresh leads. This is the seventh arrest in the case so far. According to investigators, Soyab's arrest has filled a crucial gap in the timeline of Nabi's movements before the attack. The NIA believes that Soyab played a knowing role in providing safe passage and support to Nabi, and his custody will help the agency map out the larger network that enabled the bomber. The NIA has already arrested six alleged associates of Nabi, who were involved in planning, reconnaissance, or logistical facilitation. The agency is probing whether handlers outside India guided the group and if the bomber received financial or material assistance from a larger network. The Delhi blast, which used an improvised explosive device, was one of the deadliest attacks in the capital in recent years. The NIA has been conducting a multi-state investigation, searching across Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir, and has recovered digital devices, communication records, and handwritten documents for forensic examination. The NIA officers believe that the conspiracy behind the blast was multi-layered, and identifying every link is a top priority. The agency is pursuing all angles, including cross-border linkages and possible motivators behind the attack, and more arrests are likely in the coming days.
