A GoPro Hero 12 camera suspected to have been used in the April 22 terror attack at Baisaran Meadow in Pahalgam has been traced to a distributor in China, according to an investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The NIA has approached Beijing to seek information on the device, after the manufacturer in Netherlands informed the agency that the camera was supplied to a distributor in China and activated on January 30, 2024.

The NIA had initially approached the manufacturer seeking details on the supply chain and activation of the device, but was unable to obtain the necessary information.

The April 22 terror attack at the picturesque Baisaran meadow had brought India and Pakistan to the brink of a full-scale war, and the NIA's efforts to trace the camera are seen as a significant development in the investigation.
