In its maiden meeting, the newly formed Nitish Kumar-led Bihar cabinet has set its sights on transforming the state into a major economic hub. The cabinet has approved a slew of initiatives, including the creation of 10 million jobs over the next five years, the establishment of a defence corridor, and the development of cutting-edge technological hubs. The Bihar government is committed to providing employment opportunities to the youth, with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar setting a target of creating 10 million jobs by 2030. The state will be developed as a major technology hub in eastern India, with the establishment of a defence corridor, semiconductor manufacturing park, and global capability centres. The cabinet meeting also focused on boosting the state's agro-industrial sector and creating jobs. To achieve this, the government has approved the proposal to establish 25 new sugar mills and revive nine shuttered mills. Additionally, the cabinet has greenlit the creation of 11 new townships with modernised infrastructure and enhanced livability. To stay ahead in the field of artificial intelligence, the cabinet has approved the establishment of an AI mission in Bihar. With these ambitious plans, the Bihar government is set to kick-start its five-day legislative assembly session on December 1, where the newly elected legislators will be administered the oath by pro-tem speaker Narendra Narayan Yadav.
