Bihar's Nitish Kumar has been sworn in for a record 10th term as the state's chief minister, marking a historic milestone in his political career. The grand oath-taking ceremony, held at Patna's Gandhi Maidan, attracted high-profile guests, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Dharmendra Pradhan. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the JD(U) and the BJP, secured a landslide victory in the recent Bihar assembly elections, winning 202 out of 243 seats. The BJP emerged as the single-largest party with 89 seats, while the JD(U) secured 85. In a swift transition, Nitish Kumar resigned as chief minister on Wednesday and subsequently staked his claim to form the next government, submitting a letter of support from all NDA partners to Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. Prior to his resignation, he was elected as the leader of the JD(U) and then the NDA in Bihar. A total of 18 ministers, including two deputy chief ministers, are expected to take oath alongside Nitish Kumar in the ceremony, which began at 11:30 am. The development marks a significant moment in Bihar's political landscape, with Nitish Kumar cementing his position as a key player in the state's politics.
