Poll strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor has hit out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the new cabinet, calling it a 'slap in the face' for the people of the state. Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party drew a blank in the recent assembly elections, while Kumar's National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured a landslide victory. The 26 ministers sworn in, including Kumar, are a mix of JD(U), BJP, Lok Janshakti Party, Hindustani Awam Morcha, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha leaders. Kishor accused Kumar of inducting 'corrupt and criminal politicians' into the cabinet, saying it's a 'rubbing salt on the wound' for the people of Bihar. The portfolios for the new cabinet are set to be announced on Friday. Kishor's party plans to launch a statewide 'Bihar Navnirman Sankalp Yatra' on January 15, where workers will visit every household in the state. In an interview, Kishor expressed regret over not contesting the elections, saying it was a 'mistake' to put his resources at stake. He claimed he didn't conduct his own surveys and played the elections 'blindly', which led to his party's dismal performance. The new cabinet, led by Kumar, includes eight JD(U) members, 14 BJP leaders, two Lok Janshakti Party representatives, and one each from Hindustani Awam Morcha and Rashtriya Lok Morcha. Three women ministers, including a former JD(U) minister, took oath on Thursday and will be part of the new cabinet.
