The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that no defeated candidates in the recent Bihar assembly election have requested verification of electronic voting machine (EVM) data. According to the ECI, no applications were filed within the seven-day window after the results were declared on November 14. Revised guidelines, issued in June following a Supreme Court directive, allow candidates who finished second or third in a constituency to request post-counting checks of EVM microcontrollers or burnt memory. Despite the availability of this verification mechanism, no candidates in Bihar took advantage of it. With the deadline now closed, the ECI has concluded the process for the 2025 Bihar polls and eight simultaneous by-elections.
