A shocking video has emerged of a woman PG owner in Noida slapping a 22-year-old law student in a dispute over the student's decision to vacate the accommodation. The incident, which took place in Sector 62, has sparked outrage on social media with many calling for action against the owner. The video, allegedly recorded by the student's male friend, shows the owner, in her 40s, slapping the student and twisting her hand. The student is seen trying to leave, while the owner is heard shouting at her. A man standing at the entrance of the PG can be seen intervening, but the owner continues to argue with the student. According to the police, the student had approached the Sector 58 police station and filed a complaint after the incident. An FIR has been registered against the PG owner under Section 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with voluntarily causing hurt. The PG owner had served the student a notice to vacate the room about a month ago, citing issues such as a security deposit dispute of ₹5,500 and the student's presence in vacant rooms. However, the student's decision to vacate the accommodation appears to have triggered the violent argument. The Gautam Budh Nagar Police commissionerate has assured that legal action will be taken against the accused party. The incident highlights the need for greater accountability and respect for tenants' rights in the city's PG and rental housing sector.
