In a move to prevent another tragedy, North Goa has prohibited the use of fireworks within nightclubs, hotels, and other tourist establishments. The decision comes after a devastating fire at a nightclub in Arpora claimed the lives of 25 people, including 20 staff members and five tourists. The blaze occurred on Saturday night at Birch by Romeo Lane, a club owned by the Luthra brothers, Saurabh and Gaurav. According to police officials and Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, the fire was sparked by the use of electric fireworks during a dance performance. Five managers and staff members have been arrested in connection with the incident. The Luthra brothers fled to Thailand on December 7, while emergency services were still battling the flames and rescuing those trapped inside the club. Following this incident, the Chief Minister ordered the demolition of a beach shack owned by the brothers and vowed to cancel licenses of establishments that fail to meet fire safety norms.
