Bhubaneswar, Odisha - In a bid to bridge the gap between the government and the people, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has made regular public grievance hearings a priority. The 15th such session, attended by the CM, Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo, and two ministers, saw around 1,000 citizens air their grievances. Majhi emphasized the importance of direct engagement, stating that his government is committed to serving the people of Odisha and strives to build a prosperous and developed state. The CM has held 15 public grievance hearing sessions in 17 months, receiving over 10,000 petitions and meeting over 50,000 people. According to officials, more than 80% of the grievances have been resolved through these hearings. Majhi's approach has been lauded for breaking down the artificial barrier between the government and the people, a phenomenon that was prevalent during the previous BJD regime. During the session, one citizen, Vidyutprabha Sadangi, shared her positive experience with the government's support, receiving a ration card and financial assistance under the Subhadra Yojana. Majhi's commitment to transparency and swift implementation has been a key aspect of his governance, as he has instructed officials to resolve complaints quickly. As the CM emphasized, 'Your trust and faith are empowering us to work. We are committed to serving the people of Odisha, and we are always striving to build a prosperous and developed Odisha.'
