Leader of the Opposition in Kerala, V D Satheesan, has strongly criticized the Left government's policy address, stating it is filled with 'false claims and half-truths.' The policy address, read out by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar in the State Assembly, failed to address the government's alleged financial crisis, Satheesan claimed. Satheesan pointed out that the policy speech itself indicates the government's severe financial troubles, contradicting their earlier claim of receiving ₹53,000 crore from the Centre. The Opposition leader also criticized the government's handling of various sectors, including higher education, where universities are functioning without vice-chancellors and colleges without principals. Satheesan further accused the government of neglecting farmers, wildlife attack victims, and pensioners. He also referred to the state's law and order situation, stating that Kerala is experiencing 'unprecedented crime and drug mafia activity.' The Opposition leader's remarks come as the government faces a crisis, with Satheesan stating that the policy address lacks credibility. The government's confrontation with the Governor has become a recurring theme, with Satheesan saying that people are no longer taking such incidents seriously.
