All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has expressed his willingness to support the Nitish Kumar-led government in Bihar, but only if the long-neglected Seemanchal region receives the attention it deserves. Addressing a gathering in Amour, Owaisi emphasized that development in the state should not be limited to Patna and Rajgir. Owaisi's party, AIMIM, won five seats in the recent Bihar Assembly elections, showcasing its presence in the state's northeastern belt. However, the region of Seemanchal, which comprises 24 constituencies, remains one of the most underdeveloped areas in Bihar. The region has been plagued by issues such as river erosion, large-scale migration, and rampant corruption. Owaisi urged the government to address these concerns and ensure that the Seemanchal region receives its due share of development. To ensure that his party's MLAs are accountable to the people, Owaisi announced that they will maintain a regular presence in their constituency offices, sending him updates through WhatsApp. He also plans to visit the region once every six months. In the aftermath of the Bihar assembly election results, Owaisi offered words of wisdom to the opposition, acknowledging that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) failed to stop the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He also appealed to the people of Bihar to reassess their perception of the 'MY' (Muslim and Yadav) combination, urging them to look beyond misconceptions and work towards a more inclusive approach.
