The Parliament Winter Session has turned stormy, with Wednesday expected to be just as intense as Tuesday. The Lok Sabha will resume debating electoral reforms, a topic that sparked heated exchanges between the treasury and opposition benches. Congress MP Manish Tiwari initiated the discussion, joined by Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha. Gandhi raised concerns about widespread irregularities in voter rolls and a lack of transparency in the election process. He pointed to cases in Haryana and Bihar, where thousands of duplicate voters were allegedly listed, and even claimed a Brazilian woman appeared 22 times on the rolls in Haryana. Gandhi also accused the Election Commission of dodging accountability, saying vote tampering is a threat to national security. He warned the poll body that the opposition will take action to hold them accountable. In the Rajya Sabha, a major commotion erupted as Union Minister JP Nadda criticized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for diverting the discussion on Vande Mataram towards foreign policy and the economy. The upper house will continue its discussion on the 150th anniversary of the national song on Wednesday.
