To boost the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Uttar Pradesh, the Pilibhit administration has introduced a unique incentive scheme. The initiative aims to motivate booth-level officers (BLOs) to digitize the maximum number of voter forms in their respective constituencies. As part of the SIR, which is currently underway across all 75 districts of the state, the top-performing BLO in each constituency will receive a certificate of appreciation and exciting rewards. These include a family jungle safari at the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, a family lunch at Chuka Beach, and movie tickets. The Deputy District Election Officer, Prasun Dwivedi, confirmed the initiative, stating that the goal is to complete the revision work efficiently and ensure a timely voter list preparation. With over 14 lakh electors in Pilibhit district, more than 2.25 lakh forms have been digitized so far. The process will continue until December 4. The SIR exercise, aimed at updating voter lists after over two decades, addresses issues like migration, duplicate registrations, and deceased electors. BLOs play a crucial role in the exercise, distributing Enumeration Forms to voters, helping them verify their details, and collecting and submitting the forms to the Electoral Registration Officer. The Election Commission notes that no document other than the Enumeration Form is required during the enumeration phase.
