The coastal town of Udupi is bracing for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will arrive at the historic Sri Krishna Math on Friday. To ensure a smooth and secure experience for the PM, authorities have implemented extensive security measures and civic preparations. A 20-minute roadshow is scheduled to take place, with the route lined with saffron flags and buntings. Over 3,000 personnel, including police and other security forces, will be deployed to manage the crowds. The security detail is one of the most elaborate in the temple town's history, with senior officials noting that it will include six platoons of the Karnataka State Reserve Police and six Quick Response Teams. The Sri Krishna Math, founded over 800 years ago by Madhvacharya, is one of the region's most significant spiritual sites. During his visit, the PM will participate in the Laksha Kantha Geetha Parayana, a unique event where 100,000 voices chant the Bhagavad Gita in unison. He will also inaugurate the newly constructed Suvarna Teertha Mantapa and offer floral tributes to saint-poet Kanakadasa. The PM's visit marks his first time at the Sri Krishna Math since taking office. In a social media post, he expressed his honor at attending the event, highlighting the Math's importance in Indian cultural life and its commitment to serving society. The event is expected to attract several distinguished guests, including Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot.
