Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Friday to a warm welcome, marking the beginning of his engagements at the G20 Leaders' Summit. The event is a historic first for Africa, with the African Union joining the G20 during India's presidency in 2023. In a social media post, PM Modi expressed his enthusiasm for the summit, stating that discussions would focus on strengthening global cooperation, advancing development priorities, and securing a better future for all. Before the summit, PM Modi held a bilateral meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who extended condolences for recent tragic events in India. The two leaders also discussed issues of mutual interest. Apart from the G20 Summit, PM Modi will participate in the sixth IBSA Summit, a trilateral grouping of India, Brazil, and South Africa. He will also engage with the Indian diaspora in South Africa, one of the largest communities outside India. During the G20 Summit, PM Modi is expected to address three key sessions, focusing on inclusive economic growth, disaster risk reduction, and a fair and just future for all. The summit's agenda includes discussions on critical minerals, decent work, and artificial intelligence. With India's vision of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (One Earth, One Family, and One Future) guiding his approach, PM Modi is set to share India's perspectives at the summit, aiming to promote global cooperation and development.
