A shocking incident unfolded at a birthday celebration for Andhra Pradesh's former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, organized by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). Sandhya Rani, a pregnant woman, was allegedly assaulted by a party worker, Ajay, at Muthyalavaripalle village in Sri Sathya Sai district. The incident occurred on Sunday evening when Ajay organized fireworks for the event. The noise from the high-decibel crackers caused Sandhya discomfort, prompting her family members to request the organizers to stop the fireworks. An argument ensued, and Ajay allegedly lost control, physically attacking Sandhya despite knowing she was pregnant. Sandhya was rushed to the government hospital in Kadiri town, where she received medical treatment. Hospital authorities reported her condition as stable, but local residents expressed outrage and demanded criminal action against Ajay. Kadiri MLA Kandikunta Venkata Prasad, leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), visited the hospital and assured Sandhya and her family that legal action would be taken against those responsible. The police registered a case and launched an investigation, verifying medical records as part of the probe. Ajay has been arrested in connection with the incident.
