Punjab Governor Kataria Pays Tribute to Sikh Martyrs at Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib

Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria paid his respects at the sacred Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib on Friday, honoring the bravery of two young Sikh martyrs who were bricked alive during the Mughal era. The governor praised the 'Sarbans Daan' made by 10th Sikh Guru Guru Gobind Singh, calling it unparalleled worldwide. The annual congregation, held from December 25 to 27, commemorates the martyrdom of Baba Zorawar Singh, Baba Fateh Singh, and their grandmother, Mata Gujri. The governor acknowledged the profound spiritual significance of the site, where devotees from around the world pay their respects. Kataria emphasized that the sacrifice of the younger Sahibzadas, who were just nine and seven years old when they died, serves as an eternal inspiration to humanity. He highlighted their extraordinary courage and fearlessness in the face of oppression, as they remained steadfast in their faith and upheld truth and righteousness. The governor also remembered the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the father of Guru Gobind Singh, and the supreme martyrdom of the elder Sahibzadas, Baba Ajit Singh and Baba Jujhar Singh. He noted that the unparalleled sacrifice of Mata Gujri continues to inspire generations. Kataria expressed his privilege in visiting the sacred site, where the Sahibzadas conveyed a lasting spiritual message, prioritizing faith, truth, and righteousness above worldly temptations. The governor concluded that the Sahibzadas' martyrdom will forever remain immortal in the collective conscience of the nation.
