**Revised Title:** "Delhi Police Cracks Down on Fake NCERT Textbook Racket, Seizes 45,000 Counterfeit Books" **Revised Article:** New Delhi - In a major crackdown on intellectual property theft, the Delhi Police's Crime Branch has dismantled a large-scale operation involved in printing and distributing counterfeit NCERT textbooks. Three individuals have been arrested and authorities have seized nearly 45,000 fake books, along with printing machinery and material worth ₹2 crore. The operation, led by the Anti-Robbery and Snatching Cell, targeted a well-organized network that was operating across multiple states and threatening to undermine the education system. According to police, the seized textbooks were part of a larger consignment that was being stored and distributed from various locations, including Delhi and Ghaziabad. The arrested accused, identified as Sumit, Vinod Jain, and Kanishq, were involved in the storage, printing, and distribution of pirated NCERT textbooks. Police said that Jain had a prior involvement in a similar case, while the other two had no prior criminal record. The crackdown began after specific intelligence was received on November 10, 2025, about a godown in Daryaganj allegedly being used to store and supply counterfeit NCERT books. A joint team from the Crime Branch and the National Council of Educational Research and Training conducted a raid, seizing 12,755 duplicate textbooks. Further raids were conducted in Ghaziabad, leading to the arrest of Sumit and the seizure of 32,107 counterfeit textbooks. The police have promised to continue taking strict action against organized piracy to protect intellectual property rights and the integrity of the education system. An investigation is ongoing to uncover the entire network and apprehend those involved in the racket.
