A heated debate erupted in India over Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's recent trip to Germany, with the ruling BJP accusing him of meeting individuals with anti-India agendas. The BJP cited a photo of Gandhi with Cornelia Woll, a political scientist linked to the Central European University, which they claim receives funding from George Soros' Open Society Foundation. BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia questioned Gandhi's actions, saying, "Why does Rahul Gandhi consistently meet individuals who undermine India's sovereignty and integrity during his foreign visits?" He pointed to Gandhi's previous trips to Colombia and the UK, suggesting a pattern of behavior. The Congress party has yet to respond to the BJP's allegations. However, Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah defended Gandhi, stating that it's not a crime to travel abroad and engage with foreign leaders. "Rahul Gandhi is free to go anywhere and talk to anyone. The Prime Minister and all ministers do the same. Why should the BJP object?" Abdullah asked.
