A promising young cricketer from Rajasthan's women's cricket team has been detained by police after her car crashed into three two-wheelers, claiming the life of a 23-year-old law student and leaving another person seriously injured. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Ameer Hussain Ahmed, the incident occurred on Tuesday night near the Rajasthan assembly when the car, reportedly being driven at 70-80 km per hour, lost control and struck three scooters. The driver, an 18-year-old who is also a member of the state women's cricket team, abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. CCTV footage obtained by police appears to show the car speeding towards the Rajasthan Cricket Academy before hitting the scooters. The impact was fatal for Paras Jain, a 23-year-old law student, who was killed instantly. His 26-year-old relative, Nandini Sharma, sustained serious injuries. Police have launched an investigation and have lodged a case under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with causing death by rash or negligent acts. The detained cricketer is being questioned, along with her mother, who will also face interrogation over how her minor daughter was allowed to drive a car. The probe is ongoing.
