Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized India's unwavering commitment to upholding justice and dharma, drawing inspiration from Lord Krishna's teachings during Operation Sindoor. Speaking at a conference in Kurukshetra, Singh reflected on the 88-hour operation, which was a strong response to the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam in April. The incident, in which innocent tourists were targeted after being asked about their religion, continues to trouble the nation's collective conscience. Singh noted that the terrorists and their patrons had underestimated India's decency, assuming it was a weakness, but instead, they found a nation that values compassion and is willing to protect its 'dharma' on the battlefield. Through Operation Sindoor, the armed forces delivered a decisive message to those responsible, one that they have not forgotten. Singh stated that India's response was firm and showcased its ability to defend itself without wanting to escalate into war. He added that the operation was not only a military achievement but also a proclamation of India's self-respect, self-confidence, and commitment to justice. Singh drew parallels between Lord Krishna's teachings to the Pandavas and India's actions during Operation Sindoor. He emphasized that war should not be fought for revenge or personal gain but to uphold righteous rule. The defence minister reiterated that India will neither remain silent against terrorism nor falter under any circumstances, echoing Lord Krishna's message to Arjuna in Kurukshetra that dharma is protected by deeds, not just preaching. The conference, jointly organized by Kurukshetra University and the Kurukshetra Development Board, also featured addresses from Haryana Minister Anil Vij and Swami Gyananand Maharaj.
