In a recent gathering in Bhopal, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat cautioned against understanding the Sangh through the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or any other organisation. He emphasized that the RSS is a unique entity that does not fit into the mold of a paramilitary organisation. Bhagwat stated that the Sangh's primary goal is to unite society and instill values and discipline, ensuring India remains free from foreign domination. He highlighted that the organisation's activities, such as wearing uniforms and participating in marches, are often misconstrued as those of a paramilitary group. The RSS chief also addressed the spread of misinformation about the organisation, urging people to rely on credible sources rather than relying on Wikipedia or false narratives. He expressed the need to clarify the Sangh's role and purpose, given the common misconception that it was formed as a reaction or opposition to prevailing forces. Bhagwat emphasized that the Sangh is not a reaction or opposition to anything, but rather a unique body with its own distinct identity. He also advocated for the use of Swadeshi products, emphasizing the importance of self-reliance and self-pride for India's growth. He encouraged the use of domestic goods, while also advocating for open trade with the world, provided it is done on India's own terms. Bhagwat's remarks come as part of the Sangh's centenary celebrations, which are being held across the country. The RSS chief is scheduled to address two separate sessions on Saturday, further emphasizing the need for a clear understanding of the organisation's mission and values.
