South Korean President Lee Jae Myung will embark on a three-day trip to India, where he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. The visit aims to secure fuel supplies and strengthen cooperation in strategic sectors like shipbuilding, artificial intelligence, and defence.
The talks will focus on reaffirming mutual commitment to maintaining close coordination regarding energy supply chains amidst the turbulent international landscape.
Lee and Modi will also discuss continuing constructive cooperation for the sake of peace on the Korean Peninsula and within the region.
South Korea seeks to double two-way trade to $50 billion by 2030 and lay the groundwork for this goal during the talks.
Lee will later visit Vietnam to discuss concrete measures to strengthen strategic and reciprocal cooperation amidst global uncertainties.
