A 27-year-old software engineer, P Radha Gayatri, was found dead in her room at a homestay in Mussoorie on Monday morning.
The victim, a resident of Shakarpur in East Delhi, was on a vacation with her husband, Soumya Sricharan, who works for a firm in Pune.
The couple had checked into a homestay in the Kiana Tipridhar area at 11.30 pm on June 14 and consumed liquor in their room before going to sleep.
Police said the husband told them that his wife was unresponsive when he woke up in the morning and there were blood stains in the room.
A forensic team inspected the spot and collected evidence, and the police are investigating all aspects of the case.
