Telangana CM Reddy Launches Congress Campaign for Civic Polls, Vows to Deliver Development

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy kicked off the Congress campaign for the upcoming municipal elections, emphasizing the need to secure funds and projects for the state. Reddy addressed a public rally in Nirmal town, where he highlighted his government's commitment to the welfare of the poor and the need to approach the Centre for assistance. The chief minister acknowledged his frequent meetings with Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, stating that it is his responsibility to secure funds for the state. Reddy also criticized the previous government for failing to approach the Centre for a decade, resulting in significant losses to Telangana. Reddy's government has implemented various welfare measures, including the provision of Indiramma houses for the homeless, fine rice through the public distribution system, and interest-free loans to women through self-help groups. He urged the people to elect leaders who prioritize development and public welfare. Reddy also announced several development projects for Adilabad district, including the establishment of a full-fledged university at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Basar, and the construction of the Tummidihatti project to provide irrigation water to farmers. The chief minister also announced plans to establish an airport in Adilabad and acquire 10,000 acres of land for the purpose. Reddy called on BJP leaders in the state to cooperate and jointly seek central assistance for Telangana's development, emphasizing that politics should be confined to elections and governance should be the focus thereafter. He also appealed to the people to vote for leaders who deliver development and promised that the Congress would return to power in the state and rule till 2038.
