A new convenience for car and bike buyers in Telangana has arrived. Instead of visiting the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) office, residents can now register their newly purchased vehicles directly at authorized showrooms. The Telangana Transport Department has launched a dealer-point registration initiative, allowing customers to save time and effort. According to reports, the decision was made earlier this month, with a 15-day window given to develop the necessary software. The first successful registration took place on January 23 at an automobile showroom, where a four-wheeler was registered and delivered to the customer. Under the new system, authorized dealers must apply online for permanent registration and upload required documents, including the invoice, insurance details, address proof, and vehicle photos. However, this facility is limited to private vehicles (cars and bikes) and does not apply to commercial or transport vehicles. Additionally, only vehicles purchased on or before January 24 can take advantage of this service. To ensure the smooth implementation of this project, the transport department may conduct random inspections at showrooms. Officials in all 33 districts of Telangana have been provided with guidelines on the new system, which aims to simplify the registration process for residents.
