In a fresh controversy, a video has surfaced showing Trinamool Congress MP Kirti Azad vaping inside the Lok Sabha. BJP leader Amit Malviya shared the video, claiming it shows Azad using an e-cigarette in the House. The incident comes days after a BJP MP accused a TMC leader of vaping without naming anyone. The BJP has demanded action against Azad, citing that e-cigarettes are banned in the country. Anurag Thakur, the BJP MP who initially raised the issue, lodged a written complaint with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, stating that the TMC MP's actions constituted a blatant violation of parliamentary decorum and discipline. Speaker Om Birla has assured action and said that if a written complaint is lodged, he will take action. Kirti Azad has responded to the allegations, saying that Thakur wasted Lok Sabha's time by raising the issue and that the allegations need to be proved according to the rules and regulations of the House. The BJP has sought clarification from TMC chief Mamata Banerjee on the issue, calling it 'unacceptable' to use e-cigarettes in the Parliament. The controversy has sparked a heated debate, with both parties trading barbs over the issue.
